Physical Properties

• Diverse Particle Sizes: Different models of pearlescent pigments have different particle size ranges. For example, the particle size of Isuo chem® AS120 is 5-25 microns, and the particle size range of the Koel Ron CPL series varies from 1 to 200 microns. The particle size affects properties such as luster and hiding power.
• Powder Form: It is usually in powder form, which is convenient for dispersion and application in various media.
• Rich Colors: It comes in a variety of colors including silvery white, gold, red, purple, black, yellow, blue, and green, meeting different color requirements.

Chemical Properties

• Composition: Generally, it is composed of a substrate such as natural mica flakes, with the surface coated with metal oxides like titanium dioxide and iron oxide. For instance, Huan Cai pearlescent pigment is made by coating natural mica flakes with titanium dioxide.
• Good Stability: It has excellent chemical corrosion resistance and high-temperature resistance. It is not eroded by acids or alkalis at room temperature, can withstand high temperatures of 600-800°C, and has good light resistance, making it not easy to fade.
• High Safety: It has low heavy metal content, complies with relevant safety technical standards, is non-toxic and non-irritating, and safe for the skin. Some products have also obtained FDA certification and can be used in fields such as food packaging, cosmetics, and children's toys.

Application Properties

• Strong Compatibility: It can be well dissolved or dispersed in various solvents, resins, and polymers, and is suitable for both water-based and solvent-based systems. It has a wide range of applications in industries such as coatings, plastics, rubber, inks, paper, and textiles.
• Easy Processability: By conducting surface treatment on pearlescent pigments, their dispersibility and fluidity in organic systems can be improved, making them easier to mix and process with other materials, and fully exerting their pearlescent effect and color effect.
